Our patient had a history of a lumbosacral myelomeningocele (L5-S1) repaired at the age of 3 months, with subsequent neurogenic bladder and recurrent urinary tract infections and pyelonephritis. She also had a history of syringomyelia and Chiari malformation. The patient currently voided spontaneously with the Crede maneuver and catheterized herself intermittently. Several postvoid residuals were in the range of 100 to 200 mL. She also had some degree of rectal incontinence.
