Marcus Gunn Syndrome

Eyelid rises when mouth opens (jaw drops); lid comes down when mouth closes (jaw rises). “Jaw-winking.”

Usually accompanied by congenital unilateral ptosis. Comprises 5% of all cases of congenital ptosis. Sometimes autosomal-dominant inheritance. Presumably congenital error of neuronal wiring in brainstem. Trigeminal-oculomotor synkinesis.
