Stye (Hordeolum)

Evaluation
- General—acute inflammatory process involving the glands (meibomian or Zeis) of the eyelid.
- Clinical—abrupt onset of a tender, erythematous mass of the eyelid.
- Etiology—Staphylococcus aureus is responsible for 75% to 95% of cases.
Treatment
- Standard cases
  - Warm compresses to closed eye QID × 3 to 4 days.
