Treatment of cerebrovascular disease with minimally invasive intravascular techniques, i.e., introduction of microcatheter via femoral artery.


Cerebral Aneurysms

Catheter used to place detachable coil (usually platinum wire) inside aneurysm. Occlusion of aneurysm induces local thrombosis followed by healing.

An alternative to craniotomy and surgical clipping of ruptured aneurysms; management of unruptured aneurysms controversial.
