Diagnostic Factors
Ninety percent of neurologic diagnosis suggested by history. Objective evaluation (exam, laboratory tests, imaging studies) usually directed at confirming or excluding diagnoses raised by history.
Two questions addressed in parallel: (a) Where is the lesion? Cerebrum, basal ganglia, brainstem, cerebellum, spinal cord, peripheral nerves, neuromuscular junction, muscle? (b) What is the nature of the disease?
