Whipple Disease
Caused by bacilliform bacterium, Tropheryma whippelii (Actinomycetaceae family). Involves intestinal tract, heart, lungs, liver, kidneys, brain. Rare.
Systemic manifestations: weight loss, abdominal pain, diarrhea, arthritis. Anemia, hypoalbuminemia, steatorrhea.Related posts:
