Hashimoto thyroiditis: goiter and thyroid dysfunction attributed to and defined by antithyroid (antimicrosomal or antithyroglobulin) antibodies.

Hashimoto encephalopathy: encephalopathy (clouding of consciousness); high titer of antithyroid antibodies. Thyroid function may be normal.
